Examples in using the Chinese Gender Chart

Steps for finding the lunar age of mothers :

Step 1. - Subtract the mother's 'birth year' from the 'conception year', get the result.
Step 2. - Find out if the mother's birth date was before or after the lunar new year in that year?
Step 3. - Find out if the conception date is before or after the lunar new year in that year?
Step 4. - Check the following table and add the 'additional age' to the result of step 1.

Example 1. What was the gender of the baby if the mother born on May 18, 1974 and she conceived on October 23, 2000.

Answer : It was a boy

Age of the mother on conception was 27
Step 1.	2000 - 1974 = 26
Step 2.	Look at the 1974 calendar conversion table, May 18 was a date after the lunar new year (on Jan. 23, 1974)
Step 3.	Look at the 2000 calendar conversion table, Oct. 23 was a date after the lunar new year (on Feb. 5, 2000)
Step 4.	Check for the additional age table, and we find that one more year (Area D) needed to be added to the result of step 1. So, 26 + 1 = 27

The conception month of the mother was on the 9th lunar month

Open the 2000 calendar conversion table and you can find out that the lunar date was 26th of the 9th lunar month.

It is a baby boy

Open the chinese gender chart and we know that mother age 27 with the 9th lunar month would get a baby boy.

Example 2. What is the gender of the baby if the mother born on Jan. 3, 1980 and she was conceived on July 18, 2007.

Answer : It will be a boy

Age of the mother on conception was 29
Step 1.	2007 - 1980 = 27
Step 2.	Look at the 1980 calendar conversion table, Jan. 3 was a date before the lunar new year (on Feb. 16, 1980)
Step 3.	Look at the 2007 calendar conversion table, Oct. 23 will be a date after the lunar new year (on Feb. 18, 2007)
Step 4.	Check for the additional age table, and we find that two more years (Area C) needed to be added to the result of step 1. So, 27 + 2 = 29

The conception month of the mother was on the 6th lunar month

Open the 2007 calendar conversion table and you can find out that the lunar date was 5th of the 6th lunar month.

It will be a boy

Open the chinese gender chart and we know that mother age 29 with the 6th lunar month will get a baby boy.

Example 3. What is the gender of the baby if the mother born on July 10, 2000 and she will conceive on Jan. 10, 2025.

Answer : It will be a boy

Age of the mother on conception was 25
Step 1.	2025 - 2000 = 25
Step 2.	Look at the 2000 calendar conversion table, July 10 was a date after the lunar new year (on Feb. 5, 2000)
Step 3.	Look at the 2025 calendar conversion table , Jan. 10 will be a date before the lunar new year (on Jan. 29, 2025)
Step 4.	Check for the additional age table, and we find that nothing (Area B) needed to be added to the result of step 1. So, 25 + 0 = 25

The conception month of the mother was on the 12th lunar month

Open the 2025 calendar conversion table and you can find out that the lunar date was 11th of the 12th lunar month (this is actually the last month of the previous lunar year, but it doesn't affect our end result, as it is already adjusted by using the 'additional age table)..

It will be a boy

Open the chinese gender chart and we know that mother age 25 with the 12th lunar month will get a baby boy.
